to be held at

Memorial Hall, High Street, Newmarket, CB8 8JP

Councillors are hereby summoned to attend for the purpose of transacting the business that follows

 

  1. Welcome – The Mayor to read the fires safety notice and announce that this meeting is being recorded and to ask whether anyone else intends to record the meeting
  2. Apologies for absence
  3. Declaration of interests
  4. Councillors are invited to raise any declarations of interest concerning items on the agenda
  5. To consider any requests for dispensation
  6. Minutes of the previous meetings held 23rd August 2021 and 13th September 2021
  7. To consider and adopt the minutes, as a true record of the proceedings
  8. To consider any matters arising
  9. Presentation: to receive a presentation by Rob Hancock, Housing Programme Manager at Suffolk County Council, regarding the former St Felix Middle School site in Newmarket.
  10. Public participation – an invitation to members of the public to make representations to Councillors. Resolutions can only be made on items on the agenda

Rules of public participation:  no person may for longer than 3 minutes in total. The maximum time permitted for this item is 15 minutes. This is the only opportunity during the meeting, for members of the public to address Councillors.

  2. Councillor Reports – to receive and note reports (if any) from County and District Councillors, Ward Reports and outside bodies reports from Town Councillors
  3. Announcements – To receive the Town Mayor’s and Deputy Mayor’s Announcements (if any)
  4. Committee Meetings
    1. To receive the minutes and consider and approve any recommendations from the Development & Planning meetings held on 6th September and 20th September 2021
    2. To receive the minutes and consider and approve any recommendations from the Community & Leisure Services meeting held on 6th September 2021
    3. To receive the minutes and consider and approve any recommendations from the Neighbourhood Plan meeting held on the 13th September 2021
    4. To receive the minutes and consider and approve any recommendations from the Finance and Policy meeting held on 20th September 2021
  5. Cricket: to receive a report regarding the request to extend the use of the Severals and Pavilion by Newmarket Cricket Club to the 2022 cricket season
  6. Newmarket Community Arts – to receive an update regarding NCA proposal (verbal)
  7. Christmas Event – to receive a proposal regarding Christmas Event options for 2021 (to follow)
  8. Council Meeting Location: to consider the return of council meetings to the Council Chamber
  9. Notice of Conclusion of Audit: to receive the External Audit report from PJK Littlejohn LLP
  10. Town Market: to receive information regarding the temporary relocation of the market
  11. Correspondence
    1. Highways England – A14 Junction Schemes
    2. Newmarket Community Arts – request for Halloween
    3. Any other correspondence received
