D/24/01/1 Chairman to Read the Fire Safety Notice and Announce that Proceedings May be Filmed or Recorded
With the absence of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman, Town Clerk asked for nominations for a Chairman; Cllr Hulbert nominated Cllr Harvey and the following was agreed:

That Cllr Harvey be elected as Chairman for this evening’s D&P Committee meeting.
Cllr Harvey took the Chair and opened the meeting and read out the Fire Notice and announced that proceedings were being recorded.

Apologies were received from Cllrs Berry, Drummond, Hood and Nobbs. Cllr Clover was absent.

• Appropriate gap between the wall of the neighbouring Maltings site and House A (as there is some debate about where the boundary is and to enable access for maintenance to the wall and property).
• Proper arrangements to be made regarding a proposed bin area on the main road (establishing who owns the land and likely to need proper surfacing)
• Regards to any considerations of the Newmarket Horse Racing Policy that may apply to this establishment.

34 Old Station Road – SCC reported that the contractors did not respond to their request to adjust the hoarding and they have issued a penalty notice stating that if it is not done, then their licence will not be renewed after 8th January 2024 and the hoarding will be removed by SCC.

A response from the SCC consultation on the bus service improvement plan was noted, NTC has applied for increased provision from Newmarket to Bury St Edmunds via Kentford supporting Kentford Parish Council’s application, improved shuttle service around Newmarket potentially with the Voluntary network and Sunday services for all current and new routes) and the following was agreed:
