Welcome to my latest partnership funded PCSO report.
Included below are just some of the activities undertaken by myself This is in addition to actively supporting the police with taskings which relate to incidents reported in Newmarket. This would typically involve the request and or collection of CCTV The submission of Intelligence reports (10 this month) as well as engaging with victims or witnesses of crime to offer Support, Advice, and updates.
• Neighbourhood Priority’s (Newmarket)
Effective and Legitimate use of Stop Search Powers to be used against known dealers, runners, or users.
Proactive patrols in and around the Town based on current intelligence and knowledge of where drug dealing is taking place.
Review intelligence submissions for the area to ensure that officer knowledge is maintained around County Lines Suspects and locations in Newmarket.
During night time patrols officers are to be aware of and conduct checks on vans, especially Ford Transit’s seen driving at night. Focus to be given to patrols of routes from Newmarket into Cambs in the direction of Ely
• COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT This month I have actively supported Newmarket DAA Open Door, Barling’s Court, The racing Centre, Pop up vaccination clinics and the NIFF.
• BEECH HOUSE HOSPITAL SITE On 11/05/2022 I ARRANGED A MEETING WITH THE Cambian group to discuss the new Children’s home at the above site. The site is currently being renovated prior to its planned opening in October this year.
• ANNUAL TOWN MEETING Despite a low attendance I was still able to have some very positive engagement with members of public in attendance.
• CRIME STATISTICS A recent report places Newmarket at 12th out of 14 districts in Western area for recorded crimes in the month of March with Ipswich recording the highest number 1,551 and Halesworth the lowest at 90. Newmarket recorded 130 this compared to 159 for the same period in 2021 181 in 2020 and 185 in 2019
• SURGERIES Are continuing weekly and are proving to be very successful. On 17/05 I was delighted to meet the ex-deputy chief Constable of Manchester who retired to the Newmarket area recently
• ASB VALLEY WAY Following concerns from residents I attended with our ASB officer to conduct surveys in the affected areas.
• SOAP BOX DERBY The work is now almost complete on our Soap Box Cart for this year’s event, and I can now release the first picture of
