Welcome to my latest partnership funded PCSO report.
Included below are just some of the activities undertaken by myself This is in addition to actively supporting the police with taskings which relate to incidents reported in Newmarket. This would typically involve the request and or collection of CCTV The submission of Intelligence reports (10 this month) as well as engaging with victims or witnesses of crime to offer Support, Advice, and updates.
• Neighbourhood Priority’s (Newmarket)
Effective and Legitimate use of Stop Search Powers to be used against known dealers, runners, or users.
Proactive patrols in and around the Town based on current intelligence and knowledge of where drug dealing is taking place.
Review intelligence submissions for the area to ensure that officer knowledge is maintained around County Lines Suspects and locations in Newmarket.
• Community Engagement
This month I have actively supported Newmarket DAA
Open Door, Barling’s Court, Local Authority CEOs, Pop up vaccination clinics and the NIFF.I also attended the Palm Sunday service at St Etelredas as well as the exhibition at Memorial Hall highlighting the Jockey Clubs vision for the future of Newmarket.
• Cadet Parade
In preparation for the annual Police Cadet Parade on 24/04/2022 I have been teaching Drill and inspecting Uniform to ensure a smart turn out.
• Beech House Hospital Site
The above site is to be taken over by the Cambian Group who will be opening a new residential children’s home in the near future. With this in mind I have arranged a meeting with the area manager on 04/05/2022 to look at the service they will be providing and discuss any impact this will have on the local community. Once open I will ensure that the site receives regular reassurance visits.
• Social Media Post Following a disturbing post on one of Newmarket’s Community Forums I identified the relevant location and person involved and was then able to relay this information to response officers who attended and dealt accordingly.
• Criminal Damage at Studlands – Unfortunately, the new bench which the Jockey Club provided at the Orchard on Studlands has been removed and vandalised. I have Instigated an investigation and will also be conducting a series of early evening patrols to identify potential offenders.
