Below are some of the activities I have been involved in alongside actively supporting the Police with tasks regarding crimes reported in Newmarket, this has involved requesting and collecting CCTV and speaking with businesses that have been victims or witnesses of crime to offer support, advice and updatesas well as regular intelligence submissions.(10 this Month)
- PULSE PATROLS- are continuing at both Icewell Hill and the Guineas shopping centre and both locations have had significantly less ASB as a result. I Also had meetings with Youth offending to discuss some joint working in the town
- Acting on local intelligence on 27th sept The Police Sentinel team carried out a stop search on a vehicle recovering a large amount of cash notes amounting to around £15000 and a further search revealed a plastic bag containing over 100 wraps of class drugs with an estimated street value of £2500. This was followed up on the 29th Sept with another stop search on a vehicle which this time yielded £4000 in cash along with two wraps of class A drugs.
- ROYAL VISIT- On 20th Sept, the Princess Royal paid a flying visit to the town to conduct an engagement at the Jockey Club. I was utilised as one of the two local officers assigned to assist the royal protection officers to ensure that the visit went as smoothly as possible.
- Community on The Yellow Brick Road Green to help plant bulbs that will hopefully add dash of colour every Spring for many years to come.
- SCHOOLS- We are now able to get back into schools to meet the students face to face rather than virtually and so on Monday 04th Oct I visited St louis school council in the morning to discuss any issues that they wanted to raise These included CLIMATE CHANGE,, HOMELESS PERSONS, WAYS TO CONNECT WITH THE COMMUNITY,A CULTURAL DAY and a CAROL CHOIR. This was followed up with an input to the Reception Classes on the COMMUNITY POLICE This was to tie in with their PEOPLE WHO HELP US PROJECT and I brought along our CEO PC HELEN SELF who demonstrated all her Police kit which once again involved me getting hand cuffed.
