Each year the Town Council facilitates a statutory Annual Town Meeting. The 2020 Annual Town Meeting was unfortunately, cancelled due to COVID-19. The date for this year’s meeting is on Tuesday 25th May 2021 at 6pm, in King Edward VII Memorial Hall, High Street, Newmarket CB8 8JP.
The Town Council invites the residents, representatives from West Suffolk Council and Suffolk County Council, the Police and local organisations to attend the meeting.
The Mayor and each committee chairman will present an overview of their actions and achievements during the past year. Members of the public are able to put forward their questions and comments to town, district and county councillors.
It’s the ideal opportunity to put any questions regarding town matters to the Town Council. You can submit a comment or question by Monday 17th May and the Council will respond to you at the meeting or if it is more appropriate may write to you. Your name will not be recorded in the minutes of the meeting.
Please contact Debbie Baines, Town Clerk for further details at townclerk@newmarket.gov.uk
To decrease your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19, we have limited the number of people that can safely attend the Annual Town Meeting. The wearing of face coverings is compulsory when inside the building. The event will be held and organised in line with the Covid-19 government guidelines in place at the time.
