Silver Sunday

Silver Sunday is an exciting new day dedicated to celebrating older people and their contributions to their communities, held on the first Sunday of October every year.

What is Silver Sunday? Initially launched as a local campaign to tackle loneliness and isolation. Silver Sunday is now a national day where people of all generations can come together by hosting fun and free activities for older people, keep their minds and bodies active, learn new skills, make new friends and connect with the communities and generations around them.

In recognition of this special occasion Newmarket Town Council was hosting a free Tea Dance in October; however due to the pandemic the event had to be postponed.
