Carnival

The British government has announced a four-step roadmap to take England out of its coronavirus lockdown. We’ll enter the fourth stage of the government’s plan, no sooner than June 21.
However, given the current social distancing measures and the banning of social gatherings in force, it will simply not be possible to plan the Carnival. Planning of the event would ordinarily have been ongoing over many months.

With sadness, Newmarket Town Council has taken the decision to cancel for the second year in a row the Carnival – an important event in our calendar, where everyone takes part to celebrate our town.

The carnival has roots dating back to 2003 and hopefully, we will be able to resume our activities next year. Until that time, Community & Leisure Services Committee thank you for your understanding and continued support. We very much look forward to the return of the event and we would like to invite new members to our friendly Carnival Committee.
