PCSO REPORT
Listed below are just some of the activities I have been involved in alongside actively supporting the Police in Newmarket with taskings regarding crimes and investigations.
This would typically include the requesting and collection of CCTV and reassurance for individuals and businesses who may have been either victims or witnesses of crime as well as making regular intelligence submissions (11 this month).
NEWMARKET POLICING PRIORITYS
1-ASB at the Guineas shopping Centre, Damage in the Multi Story Car Park.
2- OP VELOCITY Targeting of known Drug Dealers and Locations in and around Newmarket.
3-Acquisitive Crime CAT Converter Thefts. Theft of/from Motor Vehicles.
THE QUEENS STATUE- Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, her statue on Birdcage Walk in Newmarket became a focal point for local people to pay their respects. I have been regularly visiting the site and engaging with the persons in attendance. In addition, I also attended the Accession service for King Charles at the Memorial Hall.
OP SCEPTRE
Prior to the next OP SCEPTRE week, I have collected and surrendered for destruction a large number of knives from members of public in and around Newmarket. I am also looking at the logistics of siting the District Knife amnesty bin within Newmarket.
MERIDA HOUSE
on 22/09/2022 I was invited along to view the new children’s home which is situated at the old Beeches Hospital site on the Fordham Road. MERIDA HOUSE will open as a new service in Newmarket in late October 2022 and will be a sister unit to the already established specialist mental health provision MEEKO HOUSE in Cambs. The service will eventually offer 22 placements for children between 12-18 who have ongoing mental health presentation and require a specialist residential placement.
ADDITION TO SURGERIES
In addition to my regular Tuesday morning surgeries, I have also arranged to have a weekly surgery at Newmarket Academy. This will take place every Wednesday between midday and 13:00 at the Academy and will provide an excellent opportunity for engagement with young persons.
