Thanks to the efforts and drive of the Mayor, Councillor Winter, the Town Council was awarded £56,158 from West Suffolk Council and The Big Lottery Fund to help build an inclusive and accessible outdoor area of play within the existing Memorial Gardens play area.
The works starts 7th November for 3 weeks. Equipment planned for the play area includes an in- ground accessible roundabout, swings with inclusive seating, new multi-play unit, crawl tunnel, accessible spring rocker, interactive play panel, partial fencing of sand pit to try to contain it better extended wet pour surfacing for ease of movement around the area, and improved gate access.
Inclusive play areas support inclusive communities and every child deserves equal access to play equipment.
