Welcome to my latest partnership funded PCSO report.
Included below are just some of the activities undertaken by myself. This is in addition to actively supporting the police with tasks which relate to incidents reported in Newmarket. This would typically involve the request and or collection of CCTV, the submission of Intelligence reports (9 this month) as well as engaging with victims or witnesses of crime to offer Support, Advice, and updates.

- Neighbourhood Priorities-These are currently, Reducing ASB and tackling criminality in the area of Icewell Hill (Op Beckon) and also Targeting County Lines operating in and around Newmarket
- Social Media Training-I have completed Social Media Training which means I am now able to use Some of the Constabulary sites such as Twitter to report on my activities
- Post box Thefts-You will be aware of the theft of mailboxes which has been taking place in rural parts of Suffolk. This is believed to be more for the collectability than the scrap value, However I have been giving attention to any in the Newmarket area which may be targeted
- CABLE THEFT- Locally thieves have once again been targeting copper cable from BT sites This results in a loss of service for phone users as well as the inconvenience and cost of replacing it
- PSPO Signage-The new signage which I requested from The District Council has been installed at the agreed locations resulting in an almost 100% improvement
- Rough Sleepers- TK MAXX have now gated their fire escape preventing the two rough sleepers from using it. Both have been temporarily housed in Newmarket. In addition, whilst on patrol on Studland I was made aware of a young male who was living in a tent which I then found and was able to sign post him to outreach workers
- Pop up stalls-These are still proving to be extremely popular, providing an excellent opportunity for both Engagement and Intelligence Gathering
- School inputs- This has been a busy period for inputs to schools and w/c 17/01/2022 saw me visiting Newmarket Academy daily to deliver Assembly’s on Knife Crime to each year group, this was followed up on 25/01/2022 with a day’s input on Cyber Crime and Finally I followed up a request from St Louis Primary School to speak to pupils on safety in the community
- Community Group Support- I went along to the Shine a Light Dementia Support Group on 17/01/2022 and took part in activities. This group meets on the third Monday of each month. The Health Walk group is starting to grow in numbers, and I took part in a walk with them on 20/2/2022 This group meet fortnightly at the Day centre at 13:30 where after a brief stop for admin they carry out the planned walk finishing back at the day centre for a cup of tea and a de brief
POLICE ADVICE AND GUIDANCE
I am Happy to give advice and guidance where I can. If it is something that I cannot give an immediate answer too, then I am ideally placed to seek advice from other professionals. Member of the public wanting advice on police-related matters can be signposted to the Suffolk Constabulary.
