Welcome to my Latest Partnership Funded PCSO Report.
Below are some of the activities I have been involved in alongside actively supporting the Police with tasks regarding crimes reported in Newmarket, this has involved requesting and collecting CCTV and speaking with businesses that have been victims or witnesses of crime to offer support, advice and updates as well as regular intelligence submissions.(9 this Month)
• CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFTS-Following further incidents in Newmarket and surrounding areas a suspect vehicle was seen in the vicinity. Following a brief chase, the vehicle was stopped, and a Male was arrested.
• PARK LANE- Following a serious incident in the early hours of Sunday 22nd August I was utilised to assist with H2H and CCTV enquiries. This investigation is ongoing with a number of arrests being made.
• ASB AT THE GUINNEAS SHOPPING CENTRE- Following an increase in ASB at this location added patrols have been put in place and it has been adopted as A Policing Priority. Additional signage highlighting the PSPO is also being looked at.
The Guinneas management have also issued a number of banning notices.
• POP UP MARKET STALL- I now have a regular slot at the Market on the first Tuesday of each month.
This gives the public a chance to discuss any issues face to face and receive the most up to date crime reduction advice from Suffolk Constabulary’s First Principle Crime Reduction Matrix as well as being offered cycle property marking and purse bells free of charge.
• ROUGH SLEEPERS-I have been Consulting with WSC homeless outreach workers following the arrival of two new rough sleepers in the town.
• SOAP BOX DERBY-I put together a team for this Community event and although we didn’t win this time it’s the taking part that counts (There is always next year) The Thin Blue Liners will return…
• NEWMARKET FOOD &DRINK FESTIVAL- This event took place on the 11th and 12th of September and was very well attended. I even agreed to a selfie with Celebrity Chef Rosemary Shrager
POLICE ADVICE AND GUIDANCE
I am Happy to give advice and guidance where I can. If it is something that I cannot give an immediate answer too, then I am ideally placed to seek advice from other professionals. Member of the public wanting advice on police-related matters can be signposted to the Suffolk Constabulary.
