Newmarket community bulb planting in Yellow Brick Road – This is the best time to plant bulbs!
Following the litter pick event in July by the Racing Centre, Newmarket Town Council has organised a community bulb planting day, on Saturday 2nd October at 10:00am as part of a Newmarket Community Network initiative to revive the space and utilise it to benefit the community.
We are inviting you to be a part in the landscape revival works by joining us in planting over 10,000 bulbs in the Yellow Brick Road. There’s no magic to planting bulbs – in fact, it’s easier than a lot of people think. We will have areas for planting lined out on the day, take your pick, grabs some bulbs and plant them. This event is suitable for all ages.
Bulb planting activities are designed to give children the best possible outdoor learning experience, connect with nature in their local green space and inspire them to care for the environment.
Community is at the heart of all we do at Newmarket Town Council. Let’s enhance Yellow Brick Road for future generations and watch the flower bloom, green spaces getting a dash of colour every spring for many years to come.
The flower bulbs are kindly donated by Lubbe & Sons Ltd.
Date: Saturday 2nd October
Time: 10:00am
Location: Yellow Brick Road Green
