21/06/1  Welcome

The Mayor opened the meeting and read out the Fire Safety Notice and announced that the meeting was being recorded.

21/06/2 Apologies for Absence – LGA 1972, Section 85(1) & (2)

Apologies were received from Cllrs Anderson, Berry, Clover,  Crissall, De’Ath, Fitzgerald and Lay.

21/06/3 Declaration of Members Interests and to Remind Councillors of the Need to Keep up to Date Their Register of Member’s Interests and to Consider any Requests Received for Member’s Dispensation

21/06/4 Public Open Session

No members of the public were in attendance.

Cllr Drummond declared a non-pecuniary interest in the following item.

21/06/5 Newmarket Cumulative Impact

The recommendation from the D&P Committee meeting held on 7th June 2021 was received and the following was agreed:

21/06/5.01 Resolved (D/21/06/15/.01 Recommendation)

That in the absence of any recent evidence due to the pandemic restrictions, NTC supports the renewal of the Cumulative Impact Assessment.

21/06/6  Exclusion of the press and public

With the vote being unanimous, it was:

21/06/6.01 Resolved

To resolve that under the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960, the public and press be excluded for the remainder of the meeting because of the likely disclosure of private and confidential information or staff matters.

Acting Town Clerk left the meeting.

21/06/7 Staffing Matters

The Mayor gave a verbal update on the Town Clerk vacancy and the following was agreed:

21/06/7.01 Resolved

That the post of Town Clerk be offered to the Acting Town Clerk and that the Town Clerk reviews the staffing structure and put forward any recommendations.
