We have been made aware that some users of the Memorial Gardens have been using areas of the garden as toilet facilities.
This poses a health and safety risk for children playing in the gardens and to the water system for the splash pad. We have a duty of care to ensure that a clean and safe environment is provided for children to enjoy the park and its facilities.
We are disappointed that this is occurring, despite temporary toilets being in situ.
It has now reached an intolerable level and we will have to close the park in order to deep clean the gardens.
If this problem persists; the Memorial Gardens are at risk of having to be permanently closed so a reminder that whilst we are looking into the repair/refurbishment of the public toilets on the High Street, there are temporary toilets in the gardens and there are alternative toilets in the Guineas Shopping Centre.
