Youth Council
The Aims and Roles of Newmarket Youth
Council:
- Newmarket Youth Council is made up
of young people from all the schools in
Newmarket. Each First School has 2
representatives; each Middle school has
up to 3 representatives and Newmarket
College has 4 representatives.
- The Youth Council meets 3 times in
the autumn term; 3 times in the spring
term and twice in the summer term.
- The Chair of the Youth Council
presents a monthly report to the Town
Council.
- The Youth Council should be
consulted on major initiatives and new
developments in Newmarket.
- The Youth Council will represent
young people, when necessary, at events
in Newmarket.
- The Youth Council will establish
links with the Forest Heath Youth Forum
and with school councils.
- The Youth Council is committed to
providing a platform for discussion and
actions to represent the interests of
all the young people of Newmarket.
- The Youth Council is committed to
promoting environmentally friendly
policies.
- The Youth Council is committed to
ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all
the young people of Newmarket.
- The Youth Council is dedicated to
establishing partnerships with community
and local authority groups for the
benefit of all the young people of
Newmarket.
- The Youth Councils aims to provide
and manage an online forum for the voice
of the youth of Newmarket and to promote
better communication.
