An Introduction to The Voluntary Network:

The Voluntary Network operates a number of community projects in the Forest Heath and neighbouring East Cambs. area. You can find details of some on their services below.

Dial a Ride Service

Picture: Dial a Ride busDial a Ride offers affordable and accessible door to door service for those who find it difficult to use public transport.

The service is available across Forest Heath and the neighbouring area of East Cambs. All our vehicles are fully wheelchair accessible.

We can assist you to travel to the shops, medical appointments, visit family/friends, attend the Day Centre and much more.

The service operates Monday to Friday and you will need to become a member in order to make use of us. If you would like any further information please call 01638 608022.

Wheels within Wheels Service

A smaller wheelchair accessible vehicle; available for hire to those who otherwise find it difficult to use public transport. Vehicle is charged at 30p per mile to Suffolk residents. We have some volunteers who, subject to availability will drive the vehicle. Alternatively you may wish to nominate your own driver, we will need to provide us with a copy of their driving licence and there will be a brief induction. If you would like further information then please call 01638 608022.

Community Car Service:

Volunteer drivers help to take passengers further afield, e.g. hospital appointments, visit relatives or attend social groups. Please call 01638 608049 for further information.

We also provide support to local voluntary groups; we can offer advice and signpost to a wealth of information/support. We would also be delighted to speak to you about your volunteering needs.

Please call 01638 608048 to hear more about volunteering in your area.

Befriending Service:
