Newmarket Town Council is pleased to offer the newly refurbished Memorial Hall situated on the High Street. The beautifully refurbished hall includes a fully equipped stage, kitchen and bar facilities and two large meeting rooms located on the first floor. There is ample car parking a mere 50 yards from the hall in the Grosvenor Yard car park.
In 1911, Sir Ernest Cassell donated the King Edward VII Memorial Hall to the town for the use of its community.
This historic civic building, and the glorious gardens tucked behind it, are an integral part of the community of Newmarket. In 1999 the newly formed Town Council took over the care of the building and gardens. Under its patronage, the hall has recovered its former glory, and is once again a part of every day life in the community. The Memorial Hall has had a £1,100,000 refurbishment and boasts a modernised hall with new fully equipped kitchen facilities, a refurbished stage with a first class PA system and stage lighting, two comfortable changing rooms, an eco friendly heating system, and of course new and squeaky clean toilets. In addition, there is a new two storey side extension housing two conference rooms. The Town Council offices are easily accessable on the ground floor of the hall. There is improved disabled access to the stage and first floor. The Memorial Hall is available for hire at a very competitve price, and local community groups qualify for a 50% discount on any venue hire. For any further information on the hire of the Memrial Hall, please contact the Town Council or follow the link below, and a member of our friendly staff team will be happy to assist.
The Town Council is proud to offer the newly built Newmarket Sports Pavilion situated on the Severals. The Sports Pavilion can hold up to 50 people for the smaller, more intimate parties or business conferences. The Sports Pavilion boasts a large airy meeting room overlooking the Severals, a fully equipped kitchen, two communal changing rooms with showers and two single changing rooms with showers. The Pavilion is surrounded by a veranda inviting customers to make use of its beautiful surroundings.
The Severals Sports Pavilion was kindly funded by Darley Stud Management Co. LTD. in 2010. The idea for the Pavilion was to create a platform to introduce a new sport facility, and to create a central focus for the residents of Newmarket and its surrounding communities. The Pavilion can be used for numerous functions from sporting activities, to conference, family reunions as well as meetings and private functions. The grounds offer a first class cricket square and acres of land versatile to accommodate any function. There are excellent changing facilities and a superb social space to hold events.
