based band ‘Tell it to the Marines’ were winners of the final of this year’s
Battle of the Bands competition, receiving first prize of £500.
Heat one winners Ascendia were named runners up and received £250. Both bands
fiercely fought off competition from Dead Patrol and Highwayman’s Hitch.
The Final was staged before a sell out crowd in Newmarket Memorial Hall on
Saturday 18th October; organisers were pleased it had been a huge success. It
was highly entertaining evening, and the audience were very enthusiastic.
How to Kill a conversation were invited to play this year’s opening set and
First Copy last year’s runners played a farewell set.
Everyone went home happy!
