Following an idea brought forward by a resident Newmarket Town Council, in conjunction with Love Newmarket, are delighted to support a town wide event to promote Purple Tuesday, which this year is on 13th November 2018.
Purple Tuesday is the UK’s first accessible shopping day, established to recognise the importance and needs of disabled consumers and promote inclusive shopping. Participating retailers will be promoting their involvement on the day, with events taking place on high streets and in shopping centres.
You are invited to come at the Memorial Hall between 10am and 3 pm on Tuesday 13th November to meet local groups and charities. We hope you can join us for this meaningful event. .
The aim is to make customer-facing businesses more aware of these opportunities and challenges and inspire them to make changes to improve the disabled customer experience over the long term.
So let’s do this. Let’s make 2018 the year of the first accessible shopping day, and the starting point of making Newmarket a more accessible place.
