Purple Tuesday

The Purple Tuesday is coming back to Newmarket for a second year!!

Following an idea brought forward by a resident Newmarket Town Council, in conjunction with Love Newmarket and Guineas Shopping Centre are delighted to support a town wide event to promote Purple Tuesday, which this year is on 12th November 2019.
Purple Tuesday is the UK’s first accessible shopping day, established to recognise the importance and needs of disabled consumers and promote inclusive shopping. Participating retailers will be promoting their involvement on the day, with events taking place on high streets and in shopping centres.
You are invited to come at the Guineas Shopping Centre between 10am and 3 pm on Tuesday 12th November to meet local groups and charities. We hope you can join us for this meaningful event. .
The aim is to make customer-facing businesses more aware of these opportunities and challenges and inspire them to make changes to improve the disabled customer experience over the long term.
So let’s turn the town purple and make Newmarket a more accessible place.

We have designed a Kids Purple Trail to increase understanding of disability and awareness of the diversity and inclusion amongst children.

Pick up a Purple Trail map from the Newmarket library, the Town Council reception, the Guineas shopping centre management office, Newmarket Tesco customer services,  Newmarket Waitrose customer services  or print the map. Look for the letters at 13 locations across the town from the 9th November until the 19th November to win a purple goody bag kindly donated by Guineas Shopping Centre.
